    Hi All-

As I mentioned in another thread, due to the comments here, I've purchased my first handgun (STI GP6). I've been looking at 1911s as well and would like to get one early next year.

Of the one's I've seen so far, I like the SA TRP and the STI Lawman the best as they are roughly the same price by me. I'm leary of buying over the Internet since I'm new at this. Although clearly, neither could be called a starter pistol, I might only get one .45, so want to get one that I can "grow into" from a skill set perspective and where I won't be itching to trade up too quickly. I also saw an STI Edge that felt real, real good in my hand, but not sure if a can swing that from a price perspective.

Any thoughts? Especially if you were likely to get only one .45 within the next 4 - 5 years?

    Thanks!
