I'm excited to see Scott Walker throw his hat in the ring. Excited enough that I've already donated to his campaign and will gladly work for him to win the primary here in Texas.

You may remember him as the Wisconsin governor who fought the unions and won... and with the support of the people!

    From: https://www.scottwalker.com/about

"The son of a pastor, Scott had the spirit of service instilled in him at an early age. He was involved in sports, band, church, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout."

His 100% NRA rating doesn't hurt, either.

I am with you on SW. He is my #1 choice right now. I am sort of seeing a Walker/Rubio (in that order) ticket.

I like what I'm hearing about him so far. So many choices to wade through, but in the end only one... defeat the Hildebeast!

I like him too. I really should do a little more research but I like the fact that he's been fighting unions (in Wisconsin) and winning. They HATE him.

Walker would probably be a good candidate. Need to find out if he is capable of winning a debate with Hillary.

While I understand many people enjoy a good debate I don't care what someone says only what they do, their background/history is more important, typically a good leader may not be a great speaker. I've encounter people my entire work life who talked a good game but never produced.

Not a matter of enjoying a good debate. A matter of winning an election, in which debates can play a significant role in winning the undecideds (e.g., the middle ground) which in turn determines who wins.

I do not disagree with anything you stated above. But the hard truth is we are talking about a general election. And voters must be won.

If he cannot win a debate with Hillary, he stands little chance of being elected.

Walker has done a lot of good, but he definitely has corporate ties I don't know that we fully understand yet. The libs I grew up with in WI hate his guts, but that's expected :) For example, a lot of my friends fault him for not passing through the deal to build the new casino in Kenosha, WI. They don't understand it was a really bad deal signed by his predecessor (Jim Doyle) that would have potentially/likely put the state on the hook for a whole lot of money were the casino to be built. While a lot of people tried really hard to make the deal work, it all boiled down to a contract with the Potawatomi tribe signed in '05. That contract stipulates the state must reimburse the tribe for any revenue lost by competition from a competing facility built within a certain distance from their casinos. The Potawatomi wouldn't release the contract, and the Menomonie couldn't guarantee revenue. Also the Ho-Chunk tribe negotiated an agreement that could have cost the state even more money. There's no way a fiscally responsible governor could have allowed the deal, and Walked didn't go through with it. Libs don't understand that of course, they just want to go gambling. The bit I don't understand is how they hated him so much for turning WI into a right to work state. Where I grew up, unions all but forced everyone into poverty, but many still believed they held the best interests of the workers. They feared the world would end with right to work, but the truth has been anything but.

    https://www.yahoo.com/politics/walker-goes-scott-free-as-state-judges-shut-down-124254285691.html

The Wisconsin Supreme Court today ordered a special state prosecutor to shut down a controversial investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s political fundraising and “permanently destroy” all the evidence it has collected,

Critics immediately noted that two of the justices on the court who ruled in Walker’s favor had been elected with $10 million in contributions from outside advocacy groups, which don’t disclose their donors and which were the very subjects of the Walker investigation.
