My GF is a dive master, she mentioned diving this years ago as well. I hear the story at least once a week.

After I earned Master SCUBA Diver and Divemaster ratings, I wanted to become certified in Non destructive testing to inspect the insides of water towers. Those are also deep dives at the base depth. Neat pics. Thanks for sharing about the silo diving!

Man, I've gotten to dive in the Great Lakes in a drysuit 78° on the surface in summer and mid 30 @ depth. But the cold water makes the wrecks like some 1880's schooners look like they just sank yesterday. Wrecks are my thing, cold, warm I'm not fussy.

When I got my cert it was at medina lake I could hardly see 3 feet, and only got to look at some restaurant equipment around that little island in the middle of the lake.

I almost died offshore from that island at Medina lake when I was a kid. I was on a sailboat that flipped over and I was caught underneath the sail, the "suction" I guess you'd call it of the sail preventing my head from pushing up and forming an air pocket. My sister swam underneath and saved my ass. Off topic, yes, but your comment just brought back a flood of memories.

I'm from around there, never done any diving. A lot of people love diving the wrecks (and there are a ton of wrecks to dive!).

IIRC, the holy grail up there is finding the Grifon. IIRC, the first big boat on the big Lakes.
