    Out here by the lake!
    Great guy. I remember before he was in to the big rifles he did a stint as a pistol silhouette shooter. He showed up to a match in Uvalde and cleaned everyone's clock! His passing was a sad thing but he left behind many good memories and lots of folks who shoot better because they spent time with him.
    Never met him, but his exploits with the .50 BMG are legendary. That’s got to be 30 + years ago.

    Yeah. My memory of shooting with him was in 1978. He was in a different class from me so we didn't compete head-to-head but he was still very open with his knowledge. As a teen who was struggling to shoot better, I really appreciated that.

    BTW, wasn't he the first person to shoot a perfect score in an IHMSA sanctioned match? I think he was. I remember the promotional photo of the shooter who set that record standing atop a giant pile of steel targets. IIRC, it was him.
