There is a shooting club based out of Lubbock that holds a match every sunday at Rustic Range near Slaton. The matches START at 10:00 am . We shoot everything from as-issued military rifle, rimfire benchrest to handguns . Check out www.lpsa-tx.org to see the match dates and types . There is also a forum to ask questions . We have a low $ entry fee and a 85% payout as it is more of a friendly competition . We have a match for about every type of shooting or firearm . Military rifles at targets , Military rifles at plates in a race format , 50 yard Rimfire benchrest , Scoped rifles at 180 yard moving balloons in a race format , Handguns , CMP , Cowboy rifles . The Race format matches are really fast paced and fun . Give us a shout if you are interested as everyone is always welcome to shoot the matches . The 3rd sunday of this month is the open Semi-auto Plate match. This one maybe a match that you would like . It is a double elemination , man vs man , untill there is just one left . Three metal turkeys at 18 yards shot with any handgun , any sight . When the turkeys are down you move to Six 1 foot sq steel plates at 100 yards with any semi-auto rifle and any sight . The winner moves on , the loser goes to the loser's bracket . At Rustic starting at 10:00 am .. mag
