    Does anyone know what the choke is on the new defense shotguns with shortened barrels?
    I have a model 1200 Winchester that has a full choke plain barrel shortened to 18" by a gunsmith a while back and I assume it is the equivalent of a Imp. Cylinder but have been wondering about the pattern if I use it for home defense. Do you think the spread will too great?

    I would think it would be more like a cylinder - having no choke. Shooting something like 4 shot or bigger will put a world of hurt on anybody.

    I have a 20 inch barrel mossberg 500 with no choke.

    00 buck, reduced recoil

    At across the room distances you cannot go wrong.

    Even at a distance most houses will not have 25 yards;
