The Mrs. and I went to see Ted Nugent at the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi, MS. As I was getting out of the truck at the hotel, I was sticking my Kimber Ultra Carry II that was in an IWB holster into the front of my waistband. Just as I lifted my shirt to slide the holster in my waistband a local LEO cruised right by me from the left, so he had an unobstructed view of me. There is NO WAY he did not see what I was doing and what I was doing it with. He just gave me a kinda Peace Sign / Wave thing and just kept cruising. I was completely legal, so no worries there. I guess I looked the part and he just drove on....

A good example of how cops dont usually "freak out" just because they see a gun. In most southern states that have sizeable populations that carry legally, seeing a gun on a civilian barely raises an eyebrow. I have talked to cops in NYC and Chicago and D.C. that cannot get their heads wrapped around how we can co-mingle with people who are carrying guns. I have told several northern cop friends that it is no big deal. That it isnt the gun that alarms us.....it is the behavior. A few get it, but many are brainwashed.

When I was young, I don't think I knew anybody who didn't have a gun. Seeing a .22 or .30-30 or an old pump shotgun in the back window of a pickup was completely normal. (You can't have a half pack of gum visible now, or some low life will break in to steal it.)
