Most likely never gonna catch on thanks to the (IMHO) well-founded paranoia regarding such systems as being a back-door to registration, not to mention all the technical hazards of it.

I am more old school and like to depend on my skills rather then a gadget I have to figure out and slap when it does not work in a high tension situation. Even if its a total tablet/ipad controlled 100% accurate, I will still pass on.

It says something about the desperation of the left when they look to James Bond movies to come up with ideas for making us all "safe" from "gun violence"...

In the real world, this is unproven technology that relies on parts that are not rugged enough to handle repeated recoil in an actual firearm. More pie-in-the-sky bullshit from the Democrats.

This has been going on since the 80s.
I don't reckon it'll get anywhere this time either.

Could fix any problem of an intruder or child getting your weapons - get a gun safe!

Well I hope it never does catch on, but I could see one day some administration requiring this, if they ever became robust enough.

I bet Obama will try to channel tax dollars towards the development.

Wouldn't the gov love to have an electronic kill switch wired in to a gun. Keep in mind every piece of electrical you have has a sticker to show that it comforts to the FCC rule saying it will accept interference. (Don't know the wording exactly).

Can't wait until Anonymous hacks a major city's PD guns into not working. Yeah, that'll be a GREAT hack- get a cop killed to make some idiotic statement about freedom of information. It seriously sounds exactly like something they'd do, too.

Yeah, like they would force LE to use something so unreliable and vulnerable.

Don't be so quick to doubt it. NY and CA have been pushing for this shit for years. Who thinks the politicians there are smarter than to use their boys in blue to showcase "Smartguns" to the world? They've demonstrated time and again that they know somewhere between "Nothing" and "Jack shit" about guns anyway. Just imagine- an LA where the gangs have AKs and the cops have "Smart" guns!

These things give smart guns a bad name. They should be called something like "The 'Smart-car' of guns."

This is the only "Smart Gun" I'd like to see made available to the public:
