I am thinking about trying my hand at making a custom stock, I have not tried something like this before. I do wood working stuff now and I think I have about everything I need to do it.

Anyone have any advise or ideas for good reading material before I ruin a few pieces of wood?

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

    Thanks

Check out MidwayUSA.com they have books, tools and supplies. Can get catalogs too.

Rifle stocks aren't as hard as it seems, just very time consuming. Where to start depends on what type of stock you are wanting to make. Go to www.rifle-stocks.com to get an idea of what you want to do. You can also get blanks there, if you see wood or laminate you like.
