Stopped by Texas Guns on Bandera on Tuesday... remembered why I don't go here.

If you are in the area near Texas Guns you should head on out Bandera Road to Helotes and visit us at Gun Shack. If anyone doesn't treat you like a customer should be treated, let me know and I will make sure it doesn't happen again. We try and keep prices in check with Academy and in many cases much lower.

I must agree. The Gun Shack in Helotes, about three miles outside 1604 on the left just past El Chaparral restaurant is great. Everyone there knows what customer service is all about. They have gone waaaaay out of their way to help me with several things in the past few weeks. I heartily recommend them. And their CHL classes with Wolf are the best too.

    Helotes!
They are a great bunch, before their brick & mortar store opened they were a regular attendee of the SAXET show. I wish they still were, but it's too much to do both. Definitely still one of the best customer-service gun stores in the area!

    Cheers! M2

Stopped by their indoor range to get some practice in. It was completely empty. I asked how it worked and the guy said it cost $25 for range time. I thought that's not to bad it is convenient and indoors. Then I asked about ammo, the guy said "you have to use our ammo" I asked the price of a box of .45 he said a box of 50 is $45. He hadn't finished his sentence before I said thanks and was out the door.

    Helotes!
No one behind the counter has ever asked if I needed help. Strange way to do business. I won't be coming back.

Same thing happened to us this past weekend. The place is a joke, and the prices of their guns is an even bigger one.

Continue down Bandera Road westward for another 10-15 minutes and go to The Gun Shack. It'll be worth the time and effort!

    Helotes!
Dury's tops my list. I would rate their customer service/friendliness as outstanding.

But not their prices. I just stopped by there this afternoon as I was in the area. They had a used Taurus MT1911 for $599.99. I saw a new one at The Gun Shack just an hour ago for fifty bucks less.

I got a good deal on a gen 2 Glock 19 there last month. They were selling it without a magazine and I got them to knock a bit off the price. I didn't mention that I already had 10 G19 mags.
