How many guns in the Stolen Property Forum are stolen from vehicles?
This is a huge peeve of mine. Not folks getting their guns stolen , but stolen from their vehicles.

OK, since you said it, let me tell how it happened to me.

Handgun hidden deep in truck innards. Wife took truck to family funeral in Texas. S-i-L needed a way home. Wife took gun from concealment, intending to remove it, but "forgot" it cased on truck floor.

S-i-L took truck home overnight and did not lock it.

    Thief stole gun from truck.

Bottom line: It was MY FAULT.

    Right ?

Ultimately, yes. I do not leave anything in a vehicle that I can not afford to have stolen, in other words anything I leave in a vehicle I expect some miscreant to break a window and steal.

We have had cars in our driveway have the glass smashed out twice and we live in the sticks. All they got was some parking meter change.

Off course it is your fault..........Husband Rule #1 The wife is always right
Husband Rule #2 If in doubt (of wife being right) refer to Rule #1

My only vehicle theftment was about 10 years ago.

I had a contract for doing some concessions at a college football team's home games. It was a night game and I accidentally left the bag with all the money in it under my car seat. Thieves broke in, took my three gifts cards to Academy, a gift card to Pappadouex's, and my cheapest pair of sunglasses.

They left the bank bag with several thousand dollars in it, and two pairs of $100+ sunglasses in it. I giggled.

I had my 91 chevy single cab broken into at club down Westheimer in the mid 90s. Came out after closing and it wouldn't start. Noticed black plastic on the floorboard .
They had tried to steal it, broke out the steering column but my alarm stopped them.
I had my model 10 in a case in the door pocket, they never saw it evidently.
