Strict scrutiny is the most stringent standard of review used by U.S. courts when a law burdens constitutionally protected conduct. By requiring strict scrutiny in their constitutional provision, the people of Missouri have ensured that Missouri courts will give gun-control measures the most intensive review available and require the state to meet the highest possible threshold in justifying firearm regulation.

Here's what's going on in LA with it.

SCOTUS could have fixed that in Heller or McDonald but chose not to. It's up to the states now.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Give the populace a vote. I think we could get some couch sitters to vote "yes".

I think it's what this country should have been using since day 1. But...You'll never get a left winger to vote for it.
Wrap it up in the right marketing speak with some charismatic celebrity endorsements, and they'll vote for anything. We just need a better marketing team.

Yep, just mention women's rights, carbon credits, children, and throw in a few baby pictures of TM and MB...

Maybe phone calls and emails to the Texas State Rifle Association would be the way to get this going.

Us as individuals will have little chance of getting momentum on this. Is there another group that has lobby power here in TX?

I think this starts with a social media blitz and see if the NRA\TSRA want to join in after X amount of members.

As for what happens after strict scrutiny passes.

This needs to be pushed from an avenue SEPARATE from the gun crowd. If you push this from the pov of other more mainstream "rights" like privacy, religion... that sort of thing you can sucker liberals to support it.
