Suppressor host help

Hey guys, needing some help here. I've got a dead air primal on the way as my first suppressor and am wanting to suppress a handgun as well. What are yalls experiences and advice on this?optic ready and threaded barrel are a must of course, not picky on the action and prefer 9mm but open to 45.

Centerfire handguns suck to suppress. Gassy and awkward. A suppressed handgun is basically the size of an MP5.


As far as PCC's, either an MP5 or stribog a3

A .38spl lever action is also a great host.

What he said. That is a ridiculously large & heavy silencer for a handgun, especially 9mm.

I would recommend to save your money and get a dedicated pistol can. Can you use the Primal on handguns? yes but it would be awkward as hell. like others started its really big and heavy and it's going to feel very weird on a handgun.

Put it on whatever you like to shoot. I run my can on a couple Glocks. May end up getting a 1911 for it one of these days.

Multi cal cans kinda suck on 90% of hosts.

I’ve got a Supressed 1911 govt in .45acp. Damn it’s long with the can on. If I had to do over again, I’d go with the shortest barrel possible.

You said handgun, I'll say pistol. The PSA AKV is on my list of wants, but I'd also consider the previously mentioned CZ scorpion as a strong contender for a fun gun as well. A 300 blackout bolt gun or AR is always fun suppressed IMHO.

Make sure you know what you need to attach the suppressor to the host you want. Direct thread, pistons (Nielsen device), thread pitches, etc etc. That's one of the rubs for do-all cans. You'll have one can but a plethora of add-ons to adapt it to different hosts. IMO, if you're going PCC, tri-lugs are the way to go.

If you wanna suppress a centerfire handgun, 45acp is pretty easy because typical 230gr fmj is already subsonic.
