I have a YHM Stainless 5.56 can that was left on a shooting bench a bit to long and burned carpet to it. I tried everything (reheating and wiping, nothing worked), so I took steel wool to it. It has a well worn sheen to it. I would like it to be finished with a durable heat resistant coating, I want it back in black.

So, I am seeking a professional refinisher in the San Antonio or maybe even Austin area. I'd prefer not to ship.

Some clean and prep work is still required, but it is pretty minimal.

    Thank you

Do not have any experience with Cans, however high heat enamel (automotive store) may be a quick and inexpensive way for you to get your wish. Do a good prep job and use thin layers. JMOP

Whatever floats your boat, man. I'll choose function and ease of use over looks anyday. Please dont tell my girlfriend I said that, lol...

With good prep you can actually get a really good finish out of a rattle can. I suspect the manifold paint CanTex suggested would work superbly.

BBQ paint will burn right off of a suppressor and a barrel. It is actually rated for more heat than the engine enamel also. Ask me how I know this.

What about the High temp ceramic exaust coating stuff that is also in a rattle can, I used it on my AK and on my m-6 , you have to do a good prep, then bake the part 2 different times with the paint I used. It has survived well so far. i think i picked mine up at either autozone or homedepot.
