Ridicalus - gar, alligators, snakes, sharks, rays, etc. etc. etc.
All these critters have been out there long before any of us were born. Of all the human fresh/salt water users throughout the world, how many of been attacked by an animal? 0.0001%?
    I'm going in the water.

Poppiecock! I've been swimming, skiing L. Livingston for over 25 yrs including up the creeks where 7' shell circumference snapping turtles and 12' alligators abound. The largest thing that has EVER bit me in those waters is minnows and brim nibbling on the skin.

THOSE BIG CRITTERS DO NOT WANT YOU - YOU ARE NOT NATURAL PREY!!!

BTW: that is a helluva catch in the OP.

Snapping turtles will hit you just because they're evil. True story.

At least, the ones back in Michigan would. At least they taste alright.

his story is about as big as his fish. pulled him into the water head first and his dog grabbed him by the cuff of his pants to keep him from getting dragged in? ya right.

May be you aren't old enough to have learned this yet or you're new to Texas.
