    My Springfield EMP 9mm is light striking primers about half the time. Love the gun but at this point I just can not rely on it as an EDC.

    No debris in the channel and the pin looks good. The first 100 or so rounds were flawless.

    I read that this could be caused insufficient trigger over travel and I have made that adjustment.

    If this does not correct the issue, what else could it be? Gun is new and has about 275 rounds through it.

    Have you checked how far the firing pin protrudes from the breech face? The pin may be out of spec.

    How tight does the extractor hold the case to the breech face? They are supposed to headspace on the case mouth but there is some room if the cases are short. The extractor should also hold the case back but if it is loose that may play a part in the problem.

    I have one that gives me occasional light strikes. The factory mainspring was replaced with a Wolf. But it only does it on CCI primers or European ammo.
