One of my first .22's was an Ithaca mod. 72 "saddlegun". My Dad bought it for me for $90 at a Gibson's Discount Store. They were going to send it back to the factory because it had a shell stuck in it the chamber. We bought it as is. Someone bought it and fired a .22lr round in it and it would not eject. It was a .22mag. Popped out the empty shell with a cleaning rod and it was good to go.
My Dad loaned it an Uncle and we got it back about 4 years later, rusted all to hell, missing the magazine tube and the rear sight.
We never loaned another weapon to that moron, or anyone else for that matter. It was my favorite rifle at one time. We sold it.
