The AP must have sent this to all the news agencies because MSNBC just caught my eye with the same article.

I don't agree. I think this article is a couple of months late. I still think some ammo is hard to find, but thankfully it is getting better. MHO

I think that 2010 will roll around before the democrats get around to the unpopular anti-gun legislation.

Hopefully it won't even get voted on.

I think the sad part is that the Obama admin. hasn't done anything at all to effect the supply or distribution of ammo(no new ammo laws/legislation, or even talk of it). It is mostly stupid or paranoid people buying up un-necessary amounts of ammo and hoarding it. All that has done is increased prices of everything. The supply is coming back though and eventually all of that hoarded ammo will be worth about half of what all the idiots out there paid for it. This article is about 9 mo.s or so behind the times !

I have to disagree. Obama has made people aware that it is possible for a far left, nut can get into office even though his history is full of anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-gun mentors, friends, and beliefs.

There is nothing wrong with people having a stash of several thousands rounds just in case. It just so happens that 60% of gun owners decided to get a stash at the same time, during a war. The othe 40% either already had a stash or are oblivious to the real attack on gun rights in America. For the most part, that attack has been insidious and slow. I believe that if there wasn't a healthcare debate right now (and immigration) and a financial meltdown that Obama is contributing to, "reasonable" gun control would have been near the top of the list.

I don't think that is going to happen now with Obama's steam starting to peeter out. I think in 8 months, most of the people will regreat their vote for the "Rockstar President."

In the end, he is just a narccasistic, lefty who happens to be black and can read a telepromter well enough to incite class and racial tension.

I agree with you 100%, and the thing that gets my goat the most about all of this, the guy cant, and wont even prove that he is an American citizen. He smiled, looked pretty, waved his hands in an astute manner while giving his speeches, and was voted into office, and the American people didnt think twice about what the Constitution said, and apparently, neither does he. But hell, if an Austrian can become governor of Kalifornia, I guess a Kenyan can become POTUS.

I cant gripe too much about the shortage of ammo because most of my funds got redirected to taking care of the family after being laid off. But before then, yeah, I bitched my lily white ass off about not being able to find anything, but to those who spent all that money during the 'ammo crisis' to hoard and store, .

    Rock on!

I'm not saying I haven't griped about ammo not being avalable or the jump in price.

I just think that we are all better off if most of us had a stash to fight a few world wars and the next three zombie invasions. : P

Besides, I think in 6 months, things will be realatively normal. In 12 months, there will be a bunch of surpluss on the market for a few months. Which means THAT is the time to buy a few hundred thousand primers and bullets : ). . . wait, I'll be married by then. You think she'd be ok with having a room in a 900 sqare ft. appartment devoted to ammo?

I'm glad someone agrees with me about the zombies. I said that to an old friend of mine from high school and she just stared at me and asked, "You're not serious are you?" I just stared back with the most serious face I could muster, and she just says back, "You are serious...", of course followed by a half-hour conversation on why we need to be prepared for the zombies. I think I swayed her opinion...

As for the wife being understanding about a whole room being devoted to ammo, man, you're going to be married, you have to make sacrifices. Start with under the bed, then your closet, then move your clothes to her's, and then you have to either convince her that you need more room, or you're going to have to aggressively overrun her closet, or settle for one of the smaller rooms... Or unless your powers of persuation are of great magnitude, I bid thee godspeed...

In a roundabout way, the Obama admin. has been too preoccupied with healthcare and other economic disasters to even think about gun laws.

If we had the mid-90s economy when Obama took office...you can bet we'd have seen gun laws brought up, but the current ecnomic problems overshadow their desires for restricting guns.

Don't be fooled into thinking the Obama crew is not anti-gun...they surely are...they are just preoccupied with bigger things.

The left knows that its "now or never" with the govt run healthcare plans. They know most don't want it and are ticked off and that by 2010, their chances will dwindle as they lose majorities.

However, if 2010 rolls around and they don't lose majorities and they have passed healthcare, cap and other bad ideas...THEN I'd be worried about a gun ban coming along.

Many things will have to fall into place for them to propose new gun laws...I'd still stokc up on ammo and by any guns you might want but the panic and hurried nature is a bit hasty. You have time.

If 2010 rolls around and its a Democrat bloodbath...then I'd say their chances at new gun laws ar next to nil.

It's becoming obvious that ammo is slowly beginning to filter down to the the dealers after a long shortage of availability. It's also obvious now that we have a much stonger and very well armed citizenry. There are more guns in the hands of people, many who never owned a gun before, than ever before, and they got plenty of ammo stocked up.
Who would have thought that BHO and his gaggle of left wing loonies would become the worlds greatest gun salemen ever?
For those who think BHO and his crew of socialist lemmings don't want to take your guns, just ad the word "yet". When they think the time is right they will do everything they can to disarm us.

Shoot, I've been at Academy several times this past week and they have EVERYTHING (except 380 auto of course) from cheap plinking rounds to nice defensive rounds in most calibers.

They seem to be everywhere else except Wichita Falls. Wally World is still bone dry, except for the same few boxes of .22-250, .44 Mag and .17 caliber rimfire ammo thats been on the shelves since February. Academy isnt much better here nor is Big 5. Theonly place i can find ammo is Cabelas, which is a 2 hours drive for me, or when I was down in McAllen and everywhere had ammo, even some .380, which we picked up.
