    To paraphrase the article.
"Gun ownership has declined from over 1/2 of housholds to less than 1/3".

    Anybody believe that?

Meanwhile, Texas CHL numbers are on the rise.

So what can we do to not only continue this expansion, but to promote it outside of the state?

As well, what can we do to ensure that other voters take this into consideration when stepping into that voting booth - or what do we need to do to make sure that those like us take that step?

From what a local CHL instructor told me-we don't need to do anything. From the numbers he's seeing, this years new CHL numbers will triple last years. I don't know if any of our other instructors have seen that sort of increase.

Let's ignore the millions of people like me who despised politics yet recognized that our indifference is exactly what Liberals needed to gain strength. We are the wild card. Now that we are awake, active and royally pissed off, our impact on the political scene is yet to be tested.

Let's also ignore that NRA membership is up significantly and that the NRA keeps close tabs on sneaky, underhanded riders attached to Congressional bills. NRA monitors EVERY bill and watches the movements of all Liberal slime balls like Feinstein. NRA lets NOTHING go unnoticed or un-monitored. Let's ignore all that.

Let's also ignore that ammo is virtually impossible to get, that firearms are in short supply and disappear immediately when they hit the retail shelves.

Let's ignore the explosion of CHL applications. Not just in Texas but across the nation. For God's sake...in Illinois now!

Let's turn our backs on significant Supreme Court rulings that TRASH the Liberal agendas. Of course, we'll bury the recall elections and law suits to nullify strict state gun restrictions. While we're at it, lets overlook the piles of legislation that tell the Feds to F off and some even BAN Federal interference in state business about firearms! Those may be overturned but we're going to ignore them anyway.

Lets also disregard the unpleasant realization that all of our citizens have by now. Obama and his sweeties lie constantly, make up horseshxt polls (remember the 92% of Americans no longer have interest in guns and want strong gun controls?). Add to that pile the scandals of "Fast & Furious", spying, drone killings, IRS retaliation for political purposes and stupid, inane and just plain goofy statements from Holder, Biden, Obama, Bloomberg, Feinstein and many others. People are WISE to those folks! But let's ignore that.

Let's overlook the Blooming Idiots and Giffords bus tours and the slim, even shabby reception they have received. Their exploits barely have media coverage. Ignore that, too.

Let's look past the Blooming Idiot himself. The same guy who has banned soft drinks and attatcked elevator use in New York City buildings. People are FED UP with that goon........but let's ignore that.

The Sandy Hook parents have hit the ditch with a resounding THUD with their professional sniveling. People are fed to Hell up with them and reception has been RUDE! Our people know that those whiners are PAID to perform for Obama and Bloomberg. Let's not look at that either.

Statistics when presented fairly, hammer gun control as ineffective. Places with strong gun restrictions are blood baths of murder and violent crime not just in the US but World wide. Great Britain with it's rigid gun laws is NUMBER ONE in violent crime per capita of all European nations. If we plug the USA into those statistics for violent crime per capita, we would be at number 11 right after France at number 10! Let's take a dump on those statistics as well.

With all of these items removed from consideration, Pro Gun advocates, the NRA and you and I as shooters are not nearly in the sorry condition that this article describes!

Since we are a dwindling few, why so much opposition? Seems they would just leave us alone and let us dry up and go away.

I skimmed through, hoping it was an old article (it is; May 28 this year) but wondering if the author was just really, really slow on the uptake.

What little momentum the gun control movement had gained is already dead again.

MAIG as a serious threat to NRA? That's just funny. If they could keep their members from using guns illegally and going to jail for it, they might pose somewhat of a threat. If Bloomberg wasn't regarded by so many people as a petty tyrant who wants to take away your smokes, your large soda and your table salt, he might be able to get traction. But he won't, because he's that mean old man who wants to ban fun.

He's Ralph Nader with deep pockets. And Ralph Nader's an unlikeable killjoy. Money doesn't solve that problem.

That pretty much sums up the current situation. That article was a fluff piece for the libiturds to try to make them think that the NRA and gun owners are no longer a force to be reckoned with and that they are "winning." Far from dying, the NRA is growing at greater rates now than ever before. You all have noted the increase in CHL (CCW in Nevada) applications and gun sales are off the hook. Bloomturd and his drooling idiots are losing credibility everywhere they go and most are ignored except by the very stupid (libiturd) individual. BUT, we can't just sit back and watch, either. As you noted, even those who were fine with sitting on their asses have now gotten up and taken up a more vocal, active role in combating the gun-grabbing bullshit.

Even Obastard had his ass handed to him after his "Executive Order" about gun violence:

“On January 26th, Obama issued Exec Order #14, a ‘Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to research the causes and prevention of gun violence‘.”

...and the CDC study shoved everything right back up his ass....

My thoughts as well... it could have the effect of easing some of their readership into a false sense of security thinking we are dwindling and the NRA isn't a threat.

A second term President never takes a butt kicking like Obama received. There is no event in recent history to equal the public churning of venom and raising Hell with their Congressmen in order to get the gun control measures defeated! I have seen administrations all the way back to Eisenhower and have never witnessed public condemnation and actually seeing states replying with "Hell NO....we aren't doing that!"

The only events that came close to the 2013 events were the anti Viet Nam War protests. Having been there, the protesters were not trying to change the system. They were trying to destroy the system of government. There is merit in sweeping it clean and starting over. The cure for our current mess is NOT found either in the Democratic or Republican Parties. The two party system is rotten to the core.

That's hard to recognize when we are actually surrounded by it, but we're seeing stuff that is making history! These conflicts will be found in history books and may be referred to as a "revolution!"

That false sense of security could be used to our advantage. Nothing like complacency to usher in the element of surprise...
