Ok...so I am contemplating selling/trading my AKs and sticking with all ARs. (I have a converted Saiga 7.62x39 and an RPK)
I have always had both but AKs are now getting up to AR prices and that takes away much of the draw for me.
I could concentrate on one caliber ammo and only have to buy parts for ARs.

I would lose the bigger stomp the AK brings.

Not sure what the right choice is.....decisions, decisions.

You have to hang on to at least one AK. I think we should all have one in the safe at least.

I'm looking at ARs now too, never had one.

I started out an AK guy. Then I gravitated to ARs. All the modularity, options, and overall better fit and finish and ergonomics of the AR finally won me over. I sold all my AKs but two, well 3 if I count my PSL.

    I've never had an AK.
I almost wanted one, but the 300blk came out. Now I don't need to buy any of that 3rd world crap.

I dont think its crap....probably the simplest, most reliable platform ever. I just seem to be gravitating to the versatility of the ARs.

I wasn't trying to imply that you did. I think most of the mainstream commodity stuff is, because to me all the quality stuff is priced up and over the cost of an AR.

Y'all are well aware of my affinity towards the Kalashnikov; but I also understand where T2 is coming from. I don't own a single AR for basically the same reason. For the most part, the majority of my firearms are one of 3-4 calibers. Yeah, I have a few oddballs, like a .455 Webley; but for the most part I stick to common ammo types.

People's tastes change with time, so there's nothing wrong with wanting to focus elsewhere. I was big into Mosins for a while, but I've tapered off to the point where I can't recall the last time I bought one. I would just wait until after the election, who knows how much prices might go up!?!

    Cheers! M2

    That's a what...
I didn't know who you were talking to, when you said "And now you can almost have your cake and eat it too. 7.62 x 35 is pretty darn close to 7.62 x 39."

Oh ok, I was just putting it in AK terms cause that helped with a friend of mine that's a big AK nut.

lol. Half the armies of the world use it. America's only close military competition created it. Not so much third world.
