I know that I'm coming in WAY late on this, but I was killin' time on a rig last year looking up the ins and outs of hog hunting, and apparently it's a great idea to get a rail road tie or a telephone pole and cut it into about a 10' section and chain it to a tree....they love rubbing on it to get the creosote off of it and onto them.

    hmmm........creosote smoked pork. Sounds tasty

When I have need for used creosote post I watch for the utility guys changing them out and stop and ask them. some times they say yes. Also you can call the utility company and they sometimes have used ones they will sell cheap. The other option is where someone ran over one and left convenient size one to throw in your truck.
