Travis County Sheriff’s Office deputies do not have rifle-resistance vests because Sheriff Sally Hernandez will not commit to hold all arrested undocumented immigrants for deportation.

So what's the position of the surrounding cities? Seems like APD might end up loosing officers who opt to move to the outlying cities for better or equal pay and more protection / respect.

Sheriff's in the rural area of California do that with some of the more draconian gun laws. Same thing in Colorado with their magazine bans.
I see where you are coming from but firearms ownership is a constitutionally protected right, granted by God. Protecting border jumpers who live off of tax dollars is not protected by the constitution. But at the end of the day, the democrats will keep on doing this crap and the feds won't do a single thing to them. So those sheriffs are a-ok in my book

Agree completely, just pointing out that sometimes that can be a good thing. I am glad those Sheriffs are willing to stand up for what's right and backed by the constitution.
