I agree with him. If we have to go to war we should take the spoils until we're made whole and not tax the US citizens. It's how the world has worked since forever.

The M60 was based on Nazi technology. Numerous NASA advances are from Nazi rocket research. What the U.S. took was worth billions.
Japan, we took their ass. We tested nuclear technology on their homeland. Technology that was helped along with what we learned from the Nazi regime.
We also gained a strategic spot in China's back yard.

But "testing" a nuke? That wasn't a spoil of war. We had already been testing them, and continued to test them afterwards throughout the Cold War. That's like saying we have had the luxury of testing bullets, it's a spoil of war. Dropping nukes was nothing more than a way to end the war quickly.
I also wouldn't call 9mm a spoil of war. Hell, not like it's anything magical that couldn't be developed and it was presented to the U.S. army at the turn of the century. We didn't get it through Operation Paperclip and we already had a better platform than what the Germans were using at that point. Not even a 1911.

There was a lot of technology taken by the US and the USSR. Several scientist defected before the end of the war. You could say it was testing a nuke from what i have read the trigger mechanism wasn't 100% and the effects of dropping it on a major city were not known so there was knowledge to be gained. I am all for "reperations" war or not. Maybe some dont mind paying another form of welfare but i do.
Reparations for forcing our hand, for making us sacrifice our boys for trivial crap.

For once I have to agree with Trump. Had I been the POTUS, those bastards wouldn't get a grain of sand back until we decided to let them have it.
