1. After a recent range trip, I noticed some my brass I picked up had a large discoloration on one side of the case. It was almost one half of the casing's diameter. I am not sure which of my 1911s did this because I took 4 with me that day. The primers seemed okay in all of the brass, but I am curious what may have caused this purplish discoloration of many .45 ACP casings. I load 5.6 grs of Win. 231, which is a middle-of-the-road load for a 200 gr. LSWC bullet load.
2. I am looking for a quality gunsmith to refinish an old Colt revolver I just acquired. Colt refused because they no longer produce the pistol. Doug Turnbull passed because it was a DA revolver. A couple of local gunsmiths can do it, but they have a 6 to 8 week waiting line. Any suggestions?
