IMO, any U.N. treaty that undermines or otherwise "overpowers" the U.S. Constitution or Amendments thereof immediately nullifies the federal government's authority from that moment forward. Radical? I think not. The President and all members of Congress swear to uphold the Constitution, and allowing U.N. treaty/law to supersede the Constitution is a violation of their oaths, pure and simple.

Until conservative, pro-gunners have a super-majority in the Senate, don't believe what the NRA-ILA tells you.

With a divided 5-4 Supreme Court, our safeguards are not ironclad.

    Elections count.

    Obama: Sotomayor & Kagen.

Neither respect the "original" intent of the Second Amendment.

    Be well.

When the cold war with Russia was is it's last days my uncle (former CIA operative) was sitting on a park bench with his Russian counterpart in Washington DC. Uncle Sam (yes his real name) asked this Russian guy "Why didn't you Russians ever attack us?" His answer was that Russia was not afraid of Americas military. The thing that scared Russia was the vast amount of weapons American citizens had that made attacking America not a good idea. I will never forget the implications of what this Russian said. True story.

    I didn't like that only 51 agreed.

Getting 51 Senators to agree on anything except spending more money is a small miracle Seriously though, They got 51 in a Democratic controlled Senate to sign a pre-emptive letter to Obama and Clinton. There were likely others that just didn't want the publicity, of course, there were probably some who would cave as well. Democrat doesn't necessarily mean anti-gun in many of the Western states.

Behind every blade of grass...is the Reserve Militia described in the Constitution.

If we were ever invaded we could multiply our military numbers and suddenly have an army that dwarfs the Chinese and Russians put together. No one would ever attempt this, as long as we retain our 2A rights. Wolverines!!!

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto pretty much said the same thing about the folly of invading the United States.
