So we can end the rendering of property from American taxpayers?
No, not really. Either way the government will take that, and spend that money.

Every now and again it gets spent on good things. It's better than 75% of all our other foreign aid. It's better than paying iran 150 Billion.

they're never going to spend it on things that help Americans, even if the US was the only nation in the world. At least in this case a bully gets punched in the face.

How about as a little tiny itsy bitsy teeny weeny baby step, you realize they're going to spend that money anyways?

Its the US Gov't my guy, these people have spent their entire lives spending stolen money. These people buy $500 hammers and $50 bolts. These people spend 40+ years in office and have several mansions, fancy cars, planes and yachts. These people spend millions upon millions for gay rights groups in nations where suspected homosexuals are thrown off buildings. These people spend billions of dollars directly funding our enemies like iran

You seriously for one second think that Ukraine is the reason we get taxed? You think if Ukraine just disappeared, we'd stop getting taxed?:roflfunny:

Say it isn't so, if Ukraine just disappeared, they would cut your taxes by 50% immediately and balance the budget in two years.

Considering our stuff works, and our stuff from 30 years ago smokes russian stuff like its going out of style

Considering their Naval activities usually involve sinking or blowing up, i cant wait. No shitshow like a russian naval shitshow i seriously pray every night hoping they fire up their fleet of tug boats and bring the Admrial Kuznetsov within range of Ukrainian drones/AShM's so they send that heap to the bottom so no more dock workers have to risk getting tetanus.

Larger thanks to reserves of old men. Russia has no NCO corps, and has little in the way of experience in conducting successful combat operations. They fight like mongol hordes. Always have.

Russias failure is good for us. It's good for NATO. Russia is holding sand. They spent 80 years holding their "friends" at the end of a gun. Shocker! They didn't like that. Maybe if Russia didn't want them joining NATO, they shouldn't have stolen from them, starved them, invaded them.
maybe you should let our governemnt/military know then.

Russia is not failing the way you think they are.

Where are you seeing russian munition production is exceeded ours?

russia has lost 1/3 of its Black Sea Fleet to a nation without a navy in 2 years of a 3-day special military operation... just sailing around in old, vulnerable ships where the war is not isnt exactly projection...

    Where are you seeing different?

Do you believe the Black Sea fleet is their whole navy or even the majority of it? The vast majority of what our navy does is sail around where the war isn’t.

You still act like they ever had that money to spend. They had to print money and take on additional debt just for this proxy war. So no, it’s not money that would have been spent anyway. Most of our other foreign aid is also a waste that should get cut. Your logic is like saying that if someone is broke and has a drinking problem they should start smoking also.

My logic is that we are broke, and have a drinking problem. Is it really that bad if we started smoking too?

Oh no! The government is spending money it doesn't have! This has never happened before! Wait until you figure out what goverments do!

They are, actually. How long has it been, and a super power hasn't been able to defeat a conventional military holding land the size of Texas?
remind the group one more time which country is currently in control of the others land.

I bet you can’t wait to have your student loans “forgiven” too. The fact that our government makes shitty financial decisions does not excuse their shitty financial decisions.

It's not in Ukraine's interest to take over russian land. They are figting a defensive war against a much larger hostile nation.

No student loans here. But i am familiar with government spending to know that aid to Ukraine is the smartest thing they've done with our money in the past decade or two, and regardless of whos killing who, the tax man is still oh his way.

You're too naive. Our spending has been put of control even when Ukraine was an SSR.

How about as a itsy-bitsy baby step stop bitching when when money taken from us is actually used for something good. Go bitch about the money Hamas and Iran and countless other places that HATE the USA and all we stand for get.

Ukraine is getting 95% consumables. The money goes to the USA and our war industry to help a sovereign nation stand up against and imperialist agressor.

In short, you are free to bitch, moan and make victim noises about being taxed generally in some other thread, but it doesn't make sense to do that here. Here it would make sense to complain about taxes being spent if you thing the cause is wrong, but its a good cause and one of the few foreign aid expenditures I will loudly advocate for continuing.

    How are they not failing?

By what metric are they not failing?

Their K/L ratio is insanely the wrong way

They have lost 33% of their BSF to a nation without a navy

Their production cannot keep pace with losses.

They have failed capture a regional capital in 24 months

The few areas of positive movement on the front are coming at astronomical losses in men and equipment and are unsustainable.

If it were 40 years ago, and we were told we could totally erase any notion of Russia being a competent military force for a mere 70 billion, and no direct involvement, we'd take that deal in a heartbeat.
It's a poor fictional scenario, because at the time 70 billion was a lot of money.
Under Bidenomics, you're talking about a few loaves of bread...
