    True. Trying to be optimistic.

Man, me too. Executive agreements are supposedly only as strong as the Senate's approval. If the Senate is silent then its assumed to be allowed. If the Senate votes against it then it expressly prohibited. I'm not a lawyer but this looks like some shady legal ground where the Senate voted on a budget proposal but not the actual treaty.

You can bet the mofos will push the envelope as far as possible.

I'm trying to stay positive, but this crosses the line. I'm a peace loving guy who wants to work this out without anyone getting hurt, but more and more these guys are backing folks into a corner. Its like they're trying to poke the hornet's nest and hope some crazy assess attack the government so they can have an excuse to crack down. I hope everyone keeps their heads and this gets slapped down through the proper legal process.

Wow, I know this stuff was on the table again from a few different sources, but for the most part this caught almost zero amount of attention compared to when they met in 2012 and yet now it's a signed treaty? Screw that. We REALLY need to leave the UN.
Because the media in this country is the enemy. Notice how quickly they shut up about that lunatic Dorner? Because it doesn't support their gun grabbing agenda, it isn't 'news' and doesn't get reported on. It would go against their argument that cops and other agents of the state are the only ones responsible enough to possess 'weapons of war', so they had to sweep Dorner under the rug. Yet they keep blaring stories about the Newtown shooting. Bet you never even heard the story of the SWAT cop from Crandon, Wisconsin that went to a party and massacred a bunch of people with his PD issued assault rifle either. They hushed up about this UN gun grab and how it would effect Joe Schmoe until it already passed.

How could that be so when three countries (Iran, North Korea and Syria) voted against it?????

Darryl G. Kimball, executive director of the Arms Control Association, said,

“It does not affect, in any way whatsoever, the ability of an individual American to go down to Kmart and purchase a hunting rifle,” he said. “This is not about what one person in Colorado might sell to a person in Wyoming.”

He was careful with his words, as we know these folks do not call an AR or AK style gun a hunting rifle by accident.

The most retarded thing about this treaty is that it will do no more to keep arms away from bad people than the ridiculous gun laws they want to pass here.

Corrupt governments will still sell and trade arms to those like the cartels and al quest while it makes it harder for law abiding citizens to get firearms.

Screw the UN and the socialist bastards who are scared that their subjects may someday want to fight for real freedom. They can all go to hell, I'm stayin in Texas.
