I have been considering a 7.62 upper or complete AR(7.62x39) but was wondering if anyone has had any trigger time with CZ or other makes of the VZ-58. Supposedly it's lighter even though it's milled and just as reliable as an AK. I would like to hear about some "real world" experience with this rifle and any opinions on ARs in 7.62x39. Thanks to all - Texmex

I had a D-Technic VZ58 and traded it recently for some other stuff. I put a bunch of rounds through it and it was a great shooter.
Its true that it lighter than an AK. It points well, handles great.
I had the folder. If I got another one it would be the fixed stock. I've shot both and the folder is great for carrying around but sucks for shooting.
Would not feed HP ammo from some of my mags. Ate FMJ just fine.
D-Technic makes the best receivers but they come with a polymer trigger that IMO if kinda squishy.
I wouldnt hesitate to buy one as long as I also had an AK.

I don't have any experiance with the VZ but on your other statement on the 7.62 AR they have been known to have feeding issues and I haven't heard as of lately if that has been fixed. I have a close friend that never could get his to feed right so he sold his.
