I have a fairly new Taurus 85 blue 38 special, SA/DA. I paid somewhere around 350 for it, after the transfer and all. That's about the price they are selling them for in stores right now. I want a Ruger SP101, or even better..a GP100.
I know I'll needa first sell my Taurus (hoping to get around 250 for it at least....that's less than the lowest price I've seen on gunsamerica, gunbroker and a few others), and I'll needa pony up some more cash for the Ruger, since the gun is more expensive to begin with.
I have no problem doing that, am not in a rush, and actually looking to do this probably in a month or so..unless someone knows of a way I can do it sooner. I have never sold a gun, nor have I bought a used gun, and will not do this without FFL transfers on both guns, just to cover my ass and yours.
Besides that, I have no problem buying a used Ruger revolver cause I know they are pretty much as close to indestructible as a gun can get.
Anyway, as I said, I am new to gun buying and selling, but I will not do this in a private place, parking lot, at my house or anything like that, it will be inside a gun store with an FFL dealer standing right there.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this happen, please let me know. I have a ballpark figure of how much I need to expect to spend, but am obviously looking to do it as least expensively as possible. That's why I am in no rush, otherwise I'd run out and buy the brand new one at the store across the street. Thanks to whoever may help me, or give me advice on this.
And God Bless Texas! I am so glad we live in this state, we need to all do our part to make sure it STAYS what it always has been. That just needed to be said.
