NRA Reduces Membership Price for Human Events Readers

Dear Human Events Reader,

This is taken from Senate.gov – the website of the Senate of the United States of America:

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

WASHINGTON , D.C</B>. – Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ), Jack Reed (D-RI) and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) today joined Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and victims and family members of the Virginia Tech tragedy, to introduce legislation to close the nation's "gun show loophole."

"There is no rational reason to oppose closing the loophole. The reason it's still not closed is simple: the continuing power of the special interest gun lobby in Washington</B>" Sen. Lautenberg said.

Why the focus on Gun Shows? Because these are transactions by private citizens. </B>So even if you are thinking "I don't go to gun shows" you are a target if you are a gun owner.

How will you protect your right to leave your guns to someone in your will? How will you protect your right to give a .22 to your son for his 16th birthday? Are you prepared to lose the right to give a revolver to your daughter to protect her home? If your wife takes up your side-by-side to protect against an intruder, threatening her in your own home, will she be the criminal because the gun did not belong to her and it was illegally transferred? (Can you picture this on TV: "Mrs. Harris - did the gun belong to you?" "Well actually, it's my husband's." "So you admit that you had a gun that was never legally transferred to you, is that correct?")

Senator Lautenberg mentions the 'gun lobby' in Washington. So without the gun lobby in Washington, D.C. we would lose our 2nd Amendment rights!

Who is the gun lobby? You are!

Without you there is no one from stopping this legislation.

From Senate.gov:

The legislation is cosponsored by Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Charles Schumer (D-NY), John Kerry (D-MA), Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Carl Levin (D-MI), Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ).

To stop this legislation please, join THE NRA now – Human Events can offer you a full year membership to the National Rifle Association for only $25. And it seems like

Obongo and his crew or gnomes in the House and Senate want to micro-manage every aspect of our lives and livelyhood, including our auto manufacturers.

Those feather merchants aren't afraid of firearms, they are afraid that firearms may someday come to use in ridding the Government of crooks, deviates, liars, leftists, commies, socialists and other brain addled dummys. Maybe the ultra liberal media shares the same fears...

Maybe the ultra liberal media shares the same fears...

Don't forget democrats, I mean republicans, like John B Holmes (Harris County DA).

Both John B. Holmes, Harris County district attorney, and Glenn White, president of the Dallas Police Association, initially opposed concealed carry in Texas but have subsequently embraced it. Holmes said, "I . . . [felt] that such legislation . . . present[ed] a clear and present danger to law-abiding citizens by placing more handguns on our streets. Boy was I wrong. Our experience in Harris County, and indeed statewide, has proven my initial fears absolutely groundless." And White said, "All the horror stories I thought would come to pass didn't happen. . . . I think it's worked out well, and that says good things about the citizens who have permits. I'm a convert." The evidence indicates that concealed carry is a vital tool in the fight against violent crime.

At least he manned up and admitted he was wrong.
