I bought a M1A in the SOCOM 16 flavor from a forum member. I can't wait to shoot it.

CMP Bushmaster XM15-E2S with 3-9-42 scope. It is a heavy SOB at 13.5 lbs.

A2 rear sight modified to accept interchangeable "micro-aperture" peeps. Windage and elevation mechanisms feature either 1/4 or 1/2 Minute Adjustments per click.
Competition front sight post specially ground on three sides for optimum visual clarity, available in .052" or 0.62" width.
A 20" Bushmaster Extra Heavy Competition barrel- a full 1" diameter under the handguard, with an 11 degree crowned competition muzzle. Precision button-rifled in a 1X8" right hand twist, machined from Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel steel, lapped and hardened to Rockwell C26 to 32- superior to stainless barrels! Hybrid custom match chambering that uses a tighter SAAMI spec. headspace from the chamber shoulder to the bolt face, it has longer throat depth, or "leade" that will accommodate the higher pressure 5.56 ammo, but .223 can be used as well. Barrels are shipped well oiled.
In the upper receiver, the bolt is matched to the Barrel Extension for positive lockup and optimum accuracy.
Lower receiver has a finely honed Competition Trigger factory set at the DCM legal 4.5 lbs. pull. First stage is 3.5 lbs., second stage is 1 lb.
Forearm uses stock-style handguards over a "free-floater" tube that doesn't contact the barrel. Sling swivel is attached to the leading edge of the tube so as to avoid any possible barrel deflection when using a sling.
Improved competition buttstock has a 3.62 lb. lead counterbalance weight that can be trimmed by user. Rifle weight is 13.5 lbs.
Ejection has been engineered to drop in the same place.

Pics are from seller. I will post my own pics tonight.

Oh alright, since I bought an AR and a 1911 this year, both guns I swore I'd never buy, I might as well buy a Glock. This one comes with factory night sights:

$586.70 out of the door at Grabagun, aaaaand, I've already ordered the insert to plug the hole in the rear of grip and three mag base plates to plug the one in front, for another $45.30.

Savage model 64. Wife was looking in the case at Walmart, asked if I had rifles like any they had in it. Said I was thing about the one on rolback. She said go ahead, but no more handguns foe awhile. So I did.

She doesn't know about the pistol I plan on picking up this weekend.

Does 3 days qualify as a while?

    from an idgit coffeeholic
I would say that several hours is a while

This followed me home the other day from Cabela’s. I’ve got Southpaw to blame,.... err,... I mean, to thank! Made the mistake of reading his post in the ‘Good deal gun thread’. And while he was talking about the 40SW, I went to the Cabela’s website and saw they had the 45ACP on sale too. So using my Cabela’s points and a couple of gift cards, this “free” home defense gun made it’s way to my nightstand. It joins the family as the big brother to my 9mm Compact Px4 Storm EDC.

Beretta 45ACP Px4 Storm, 10+1. To be set up as a bedside HD gun; factory white dot sights will likely be switched out for tritium night sights and will probably add a light (looking at the Streamlight TLR2G or TLR4G).
