    Just ordered this from SGAmmo:

1000 Round Can - 5.56mm 55 Grain FMJ M193 Ball Ammo - Military Surplus Made by CBC / Magtech in 2005

    1654806936935.png

Should make for a fun Independence day but damn it was expensive at about $515 including tax and shipping (shipping was free), adult signature and insurance.

I think that's it for my future ammo purchases until prices normalize. I have much more than I will ever shoot (which will make my son happy or at least console him a bit when I croak and he inherits whatever is left).

Shit must be getting bad as far as theft goes. They're keeping all the more common sizes behind the counter and have someone escort you to the check out counter to purchase ammo. The guy said they're losing a lot of inventory to theft.

WOW, M193 is going for about $0.52/rd, shipped?!

I am glad I stocked up before the panic started, as
    I'm still reloading 55gr 5.56 for about $0.1733/rd.

At least you got the free .50 CAL ammo can... :D

Ordered me in some pmags, Ruger BX-25 mags, a few Mec Bar 17rd Sig mags, a few Glock 17 mags, a couple Mec Gar Beretta FS92 mags, a couple Mec Gar S&W5906 mags. I‘m done buying mags now unless I see a deal I cannot pass up.

The final parts for my S.H.T.F. carbine build. Still waiting on the barrel, I'm number eight in line for a FN barrel prepared by Spikes with pinned mid length gas block. Should have just bought the drill jig and done it myself, I will next time around. Going to start the Cerakote process this weekend, I have a lot of Cerakote to do on this project, also decided to go through with the camo, hopefully it doesn't look like crap when I'm done.:p I can always start over if it doesn't work out, graphite black is a nice color on it's own.

    EOTECH G43 3X micro magnifier.
    u0D51BL.jpg

Fulton Armory M16 Bolt carrier group and the rest of the Cerakote I needed.

Also got the Aero M4E1 lower receiver, Arms Unlimited ambi mag release and SLR rifle works hollow billet take down pins.

And last but not least an extended rubber pad for the Magpul CTR stock. It gave me just enough extension to make the stock comfortable at fully and slightly collapsed lengths for CQB.

Here's a mock up of the carbine before I start the build.
EOTECH OPMOD-EXPS 2-2 paired with G43, loving this combo, this carbine is ending up as light and compact as I planned, just need to see how much weight the barrel adds. So far I'm happy.

I have this same combination on my SOLGW 13.7. Honestly it's all the optic I need for anything realistic.

My thoughts exactly, it's enough magnification for a pistol or carbine length with small size and low weight. I also like the ability to swing it out of the way or remove it altogether with the quick release lever. Nice clear glass too for what it is.
