Paid it off. Now I own it. $10,000 equity in a '14 Grand Cherokee. Something is strange when 10 year-old cars are worth that much.

Mechanic equivalent of fast food. Nothing wrong with it per se, but they don't know how to make something that isn't on their menu, even if they have all the ingredients for it.

Honestly good on them for refusing the work if they are unsure. Most places like that love hooking up their flush machines as an extra charge on customers even though it's completely unnecessary.

Got a new rear axle, all because my local dealership forgot to put oil in after they did a flush! Also waiting on a new drive shaft they F**ked up. All on my 2020 Sequoia with 35k miles, guess they really wanted me to buy a new one

Totaled my old bug in a crash back in November of 2021. I've been a recurring student at the local trade college every time I buy a new project car, and ironically this was one of those projects when I bought it five years ago. My instructor invited me back for a semester to get the old girl back on the road.

I worked throughout the semester between August and December of 2023 to get a majority of the body work done, which involved cutting off the entire front end, and welding on new quarter panels, a front apron, and spare tire well, making sure everything was lined up so the front suspension components wouldn't bind. At the end of the semester, I brought the car back home and spent the last few months doing the last bit of touchup work before painting it the same color as my 2016 bug, code LB2Y "Habanero Orange"

Pulled the engine out again to do a little clearancing and move my front cross member back. Also the engine was just a bit crooked. It's straight now.

I was going to use the other side of my master cylinder because the transmission is huge and just noticed that somebody welded up the one I need to use instead of using a plug.

Worked on the exhaust too. That's going to take me a while. Lots of undoing and redoing.

You need a set of Ardun heads for that V8 Briggs & Stratton.
