    What is the spinning device on the front of this ship? The white trapezoidal box spins at about 30 rpm. I have never seen anything like it.
    This is a screen cap from the nightly news. The ship was immediately behind the Theodore Roosevelt carrier, and part of the battle group.

    Back in the early 90's i was on a Sprunce Class Destroyer DD967 from the 70"s & that would have been the area of the sonar dome. 30yrs later im not sure. When i was getting out in 95' they were just changing over to the Stealth Bomber looking ships & letting women on combatant ships.
