What the heck is this?

Cleaning some brass from my last range trip and saw the attached. This is a fired case but primer has the firepin mark protruding in the wrong direction? Wth is this?

Probably over pressure. These people have had it too.

Inverted primer strike?

Don't know what this would be called or even how it happened. It's the only one and never seen it before. Any insights?

I'm guessing high pressure fire-formed the primer into the firing pin hole after the firing pin retracted.

It may have been a single casing that was over-charged.

Could be but I am pretty careful when I am loading. Maybe my chargemaster threw a big overcharge because I was nowhere near max pressure

The rest of the case looks perfectly fine. Ill take a better look later on though. Negative this was from one of those 250 brass packs that Academy and Cabelas sells

Could also be excess headspace. Might check shoulder length.

I was under the impression this was brass that you picked up at the range, not something that you loaded. What type weapon, Semi-auto?

LC = Lake City Ordinance plant, so it's military stuff. 05 = 2005, so fairly recently manufactured.
