What was the first gun you "dispatched" your first animal with? BB guns don't count.

Mine was a 410 Brazilian made shotgun. I think it was an ERA or something. My dad bought it out of a Western Auto. What a POS....but the cottontail didn't think so. I shot that rabbit out the window of a Chrysler Cordoba. Mom was driving.

    Good times....

First H&R Topper 16 ga and box of shells I was 12 and cost $20 from a friend. My second was a Enfield No. 5 jungle carbine the real deal and cost $20. It's the one gun of several hundred I have owned I wish I had back.

My dads first gun was my first gun... an old Marlin bolt action .22. I must have shot a 1000 Gophers with that rifle.

Western Field (Montgomery Wards) single shot bolt action .22. Many squirrels and rabbits wished I didn't have that rifle when I was 12 years old. Out the back door and hunting with my buds. My dad made me clean and eat the animals I shot, which at the time, me any my running buddies were happy to do. Dang, we though of ourselves as woodsmen. Good times and memories for sure.

Diana, .177 caliber air rifle in the basement of our house in Germany 1964: Dropped a house mouse at about five meters while he was eating a piece of cheese bait.

I was only eight years old, and had to ask my father to show me how to chuck out a dead cellar rat.

Pop told me to pick him up by the tail, take a good look where the pellet hit him (in the eye), then we went upstairs and tossed the rodent into the street.

    The Polizei never came calling.

My first kill was with a 30-30 Winchester 94. I hated it (but still own it).

Now I have a Trapper version (16in barrel) and I absolutely LOVE it.
