Last weekend Combative Weapon Solutions taught their signature Combative First Aid & Trauma Management Class to LE, firearm instructors, Fire/EMT, and civilian students. With the diverse background, the class incorporated self/buddy aid with advanced handgun manipulation skills. Day 1 was classroom which dove into the basics of anatomy, physiology, terminology, and hands on practice utilizing basic and advanced life saving skills. With a thorough understanding of how to identify and respond to life threatening injuries, we hit the range for day 2 which tested the medical knowledge from the previous day along with adding advanced single handed pistol manipulation skills. By mid day, the class was running through reality based scenarios while having to treat medical emergencies via single and team based drills. At days end, students were handling complex scenarios while under a high stress environment. Students left having confidence and skill sets to truly make a difference in saving a life. Testimonials and AAR are forth coming, but needless to say, this is training that truly teaches people to save lives.

Excellent. Looks like it was a blast! There is a lot to be said for getting some form of relevant medical training. Being able to do so while incorporating firearms manipulation is certainly an eye-opening experience.

The wound packing exercise would have made me hungry ;)

I hope you have more of these planned in the future. I need to get my girlfriend and some of my shooting buddies into a class like this. I suppose it'd be good for me to take the class too, but I want all the people around me to have these skills for selfish reasons
