Can't be that many tornadoes in the parts I was looking at. Too many standing trees that are 80+ years old.

I pulled the rv out of Tushka 2 days brfore 1/2 the town got wiped out.
The line we worked on for 3 months was hit.
20 structures on the ground. Never even got it energized.
SE Oklahoma can and will be hit by tornadoes.

    Beautiful country though.

Oh yeah, they can happen just about anywhere. I was thinking more towards Broken Bow, tho... They happen less over there. It takes about 5hrs to get to Idabel from here. About the same to the in-laws property in south Texas, but the land is a whole lot cheaper. Plus they have real trees up there

I know the Broken Bow area. We rented a cabin there for a family trip last year. Beautiful lake to boat on and the semi-mountainous terrain is very "Rocky Mountain Foothills - esque".

What have you found cost/acre wise up there?

Somewhere around $1250 to $2000 an acre depending on how much you're getting and where it's at.

On average the property tax in McCurtain County is 0.42% of the assessed value. Anything with a tree on it in Texas would be three times that

The area I frequent up there is called "The Potato Hills"
That includes the secluded area called Honobia deep in the Chocktaw Nation, I love that area
