Where to shoot/practice with some home defense shotgun's and loads?

I sold a Mossberg home defender to a friend who wants to get familiar with it so he knows what to expect.

Is there such a place in San Antonio area? This is not something that we plan on shooting trap/skeet with...

Where can we shoot/practice with some home defense type of shotguns and different ammo types?

Bracken range has one shotgun lane for just that. It's not much, but you can set up your target and shoot whatever shotgun/load combo you'd like.

Bexar Range let us shoot up one of there targets after asking, we all shot the same lane, buck, slugs and birdshot. As long as you ask first they seemed ok with it.

Texas Tactical will be having an IDPA handgun shoot this Saturday at the Cedar Ridge Range in Bulverde. After the shoot there will most likely be a shotgun side match shooting steel targets with birdshot only and it is a "run & gun" with the shotgun IDPA style.

If you want to, later, ask Mike if he will let you set up some IDPA targets so you can shoot slug/buckshot at them.


I work this Saturday so I won't be there.

The Bullet Hole rents private bays where you should be able to do that. I believe you have to bring your own target and target stands. Give them a call and ask about details.

You can shoot shotgun at the Blackhawk as long as you have a side to yourseld I believe...
