1/2 pump gun and 1/2 autoloader but 100% too complicated. I had forgotten how to load it when I pulled it out of the safe to prep for the 'Rona virus.

And it's not a rifle either, duh. The 'Rona gave me dain bramage.

THANKS. - NEVER seen one but then there are a GREAT MANY things that I don't know about.
(I really cannot see a reason for such a firearm, as I'm a "known pump addict" & I agree with "grumper" that it sounds needlessly complicated.)

IIRC it was designed as a police shot the semi auto for full house loads & the pump action to cycle lighter loads like rubber buckshot, bean bags & other less leathal loads.

OK. BUT I still can see NO really good reason for such a thing. = I can cycle my Model 870 shotguns, as well as 760 & 7600 pump rifles about as quickly as a person can fire aimed shots with a SA shotgun/rifle, as the pumping motion helps you get back on target, imo.

My guess Benelli sold enough M3's to make it worth their while. And I believe they are still in production.

Looking on wikipedia, it looks like they sold a LOT of them. = Nonetheless, to ME alone, it looks like the answer to a question that nobody should have asked.
(Of course, NOT NEEDED has never stopped a gun-maker from making any firearms. = For example, check out the ROGAK 18.)

Then there is the Steyr GB version of the same pistol. My buddy The Village Idiot bought one. I remember the fun he had finding magazines when his wife threw his away.

(I shot a LARGE, aggressive coy-dog in 1983, that TRIED HARD to bite me & then I got "cussed out" by a LAPD SGT for "shooting in the city limits". = FYI, "cuss words" hurt a LOT LESS than teeth.)

Several Remington Model 760 rifles/carbines in all of the "common calibers", plus a couple of Model 7600 & the Model 7615 that my lady "decided to adopt" (& that I'll likely NOT ever get back. - She said, "It's just my size." & "You have lots of rifles. I'm keeping this one.").

Does the Model 7615 have a problem with short-stroking? I haven't ever had the chance to use one and I was wondering about reliability.

The Model7615 is MORE reliable than ANY AR-15/M16 type rifle.
(I do NOT trust "The Mattel Special".)

Your BIGGEST problem will be FINDING a 7615. = The Temple PD traded in 5 of the little police carbines to GT Distributors in Austin & the 5 lasted LESS than 15 minutes on the sales rack.
(Since my lady decided that mine was suddenly hers, I've looked W/O success for a replacement for my collection.)

GOOD LUCK on your hunt for a carbine.

ADDENDA: What I really want & cannot find is a Remington Model 7600P in 7.62NATO. = That is a COMPACT POWERHOUSE for most any Western Hemisphere game.
(Very suitable for ANY US game except the BIGGEST BEARS "in the dense stuff". = For that dangerous job, I would want my 9.3x62MM, with the 286 grain JHP.)

Have you thought about a Model 740/742? And a Browning BAR can be chambered in .308. Not perfect alternatives, but those are the closest that I've seen available.
