CORPUS CHRISTI - The ferry system has reopened after being shut down for several hours earlier Tuesday night after a worker was killed out there.
Officials aren't saying exactly what happened, but a TXDOT spokesperson said that they believe a traffic control worker was killed somehow around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
As a result, all the ferries were shut down. Around 10 p.m., the ferries are running again, but only two are in operation.
In addition, only two will be running Wednesday morning, so if for those that rely on them to get to work, TXDOT advises them to leave a little early and to expect delays out there.
