Worst duty gun ever

Our duty weapons are personally owned. I work with this guy and he refuses to clean his weapon. He says he doesn't care what it looks like, he just cares if it can shoot. The inside of the weapon is just as bad as the outside.

Believe it not, it shoots good enough for a 50 round qual. I oiled it for him today, but he has some rust in the chamber. I told him I would clean it for him tomorrow.

Use the car analogy: if you wait for something to happen vs doing preventative maintenance, it’s the difference between being fucked or ok.

I dated a cop that never cleaned her Glock, dirty as hell, but no rust due to low humidity here. Worked fine during quals, back in the holster till the next time. I offered to clean it for her, nope. Never could understand that mentality, especially since she kept her house immaculate.
