Yesterday Was Such a Good Day...

..... I decided to go to the range again today for a little relaxation.

Now y’all are probably wondering if I am going to the range to relax, why am I taking a 28 year old 1911 knowing this old ass design will just lead to irritation due to clearing malfunctions.
Well , I got 500 rounds of Fiocchi 230 gr JHPs in while I was out of town and needed to test a box for reliability. If JMB’s classic jam-o-matic could digest them , I know my Glocks would have no problems
Ammo looked good

So I proceeded to see how much malfunction clearing practice I could get in with the Kimber and the Kimber Pro 8 round magazines.
All shooting was at 10 yards.
Oddly enough( and because of what I type next, I am 100% sure that an asteroid strike on the planet is imminent ) I had zero malfunctions.

My shooting could have been a little better, but it has been a while since I dusted the cobwebs off of this gun.

Once upon a time, when I was consistently pushing shots to the left, someone (AD) told me my support hand wasn’t firm enough!

And that is exactly what is going on there. I don’t carry my 1911s very often so I do not shoot them as much. Grip is much different than my EDC so I just rolled with it. Pretty sure if I had brought another couple of hundred rounds out with me I could have muscle memoried it away.

I was wondering when someone I have given this advice to was going to call me on it, lol.

I did shoot a couple of other guns.

Finally got to shoot the single six. That gun is like a crack habit. So much fun shooting steel target at 50 yards. Boringly accurate as is the Glock 29 with the .22 conversion on it.

So Off we went. No one at the range. Had the place all to myself.

When Moonpie goes to the range he doesn’t shoot fingers at people. He shoots Kimbers at targets.
