    Anyway, this sure has complicated social security benefit rules which will have to change again no doubt. Pity the married gay folks who moved to a state that does not recognize it. The soc sec rules are not comprehensible for those cases.

    It's really funny that the government's desire to encourage marriage, the kind that produces children, via the tax code has been turned on its head.

    Today's ruling means that it is no longer legal to have state bans. They will have to recognize it. SS rules will be changed as necessary to comply. I don't see the problem.

    Actually, the upside is that it should remove all discussion of it during the primaries. Now the repubs won't have to go on record as being against it.

    Can't prove this but just an opinion I would guess many of the pro-gay marriage crowd are simply atheist trying harm religion as much as possible, sadly I think it will work.
