It probably sounds familiar because that was the range that all the Astros players who lived in Pecan Grove used to use. Or because ZZ Top used to hang out there. It's the place where Dusty Hill shot himself. He was banging the owner's daughter so one day while stripping down in her bedroom in one of the trailers at the range, he dropped the deringer out of his boot and wound up with a bullet in his stomach.

OMG that was the range. My memory is totally faulty. I shot next to Frank Beard there once but that's the only time I saw a celeb there.. He had a nickel Python. I didn't know about Dusty but I remember the trailer. Geez I missed a lot. Missing more even now..lol.

Any updates on what happened to this property? I shot here a few years ago and thought it was fine. Range officers were a bit annoying. It was sad learning about the negligent discharge that killed that father of three.

Shot at HotWells plenty of times. The range itself was alright. Was never really impressed with the staff especially on the range itself (no hard feelings if y’all are on this forum lol).
