Christmas Eve at Campisis on Mockingbird with family and reservations a must. Christmas day prime rib with same family members. I think the women in family put too much emphasis on the food, must go way back.

Since I have to do the cooking (because my wife would try to make the turkey fit the microwave), it will be pretty traditional. After reading through this post, I do have thoughts of changing it to tamales and some borracha beans.

WE USUALLY DO A VERY TYPICAL THANKSGIVING DINNER SO BY THE TIME CHRISTMAS GETS HERE WE ARE USUALLY TIRED OF TURKEY AND HAM!

Smoked ham and turkey plus a few other items my son may smoke. Not sure about the sides yet. Dinner will be the 23rd since my son work a compressed shift Mon-Wed. Christmas day I may smoke some ribs or cook burgers/steak on the grill for us empty nesters or we may invade our youngest child's home.

I ordered one of those smoked Greenberg turkeys that was mentioned in the turkey smoker thread. Now we just need to cover the side dishes.

Maybe squirrel roadkill sauce piquant, for those who think they don’t have to eat ALL the shrimp they take out for their first, and last, bowl of my gumbo.

Turkey, dressing, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, brussels sprouts, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs and homemade dinner rolls. All manner of appetizers and snacks before dinner and multiple desserts after.

I should have read this earlier, no time for a trip now. That sounds awesome.

Roast and sides for us. FIL doesn't do bird of any kind.

It will depend on who is open and close by. I just had a car accident on the way to pick up my hungry man turkey TV, dinner. So maybe it’ll be a single batch of chili instead of a double batch and whatever I can find in the freezer. The second choice would be to Uber it to the Chinese buffet and eat my weight in sushi. decisions decisions…

The last time I went to a Chinese buffet, there were 3 of us, all very portly fellows, and the owner of the place was a tiny Chinese lady. After about an hour of us tearing through her buffet, she came to our table and said with a grin, "sign say all you can eat, not you eat all!" She was joking with us and made sure we knew, but it was funny!

Reminds me of a fellow employee long ago we nicknamed "Tiny". He was very large, pushed over 300 pounds easily. There was a popular Pizza Hut or whatever we all went to for lunch, eat all you want stuff. Well,Tiny would take the whole damn plate of slices at once. They eventually banned him. The few times he rode with me in my truck he had to stop at 7-11 each morning and get their self-serve hot dog with all the fixins. He'd come out with two and literally bury his face in the huge dog and cheese up to his eyes. Always wondered what happened to him later in life...
