Sucks .243 is on the ar10 platform.

Since I'm inexperienced with these things I looked for a comparison of .243 to .223 and .308 and came across this picture...

    Left to right: .223, .243, .308

Yea. Little bullet, lots of powder. LOL

AR10 stuff is just so more.

If 6.5 grendal gets more mainstream I may go that route.

    And so much more weight.

I like the 6.5, but don't care for the longer barrels required. For killing things, the 6.8 in an SBR or a 16" barrel is hard to beat. A 270AR would be even better, but still only a wildcat for reloaders. But, probably the best hunting AR round in an AR 15 frame.

I read about the 30WSSM fitting on the AR15 platform and having 30-06 to 300 WinMag ballistics. Interesting, but a novelty to me.

I enjoy reloading but I just don't have the time to do a whole lot of it. I have dies I bought over a year ago sitting unopened.

They either lied or are running way over pressure to get those velocities.

savage has some really good packages under $450. If you are hunting small hill country type deer a 223 is fine. i would suggest a 30-06 or 308 for anything bigger. less of a chance of looking for a wounded animal

I looked at the 25 -06 and cannot see the numbers vs 270/243, nor is it a cheap rd...

If it was more common, the 270.243 in Win Short Magnum is very impressive...

I read a review on 6.5 and long barrels arent required. The rounds did just fine with a 16" barrel.
