Or conceal under an untucked shirt or jacket. How many prefer holsters with a thumb break, or other retention device? Personally I find it a bit troublesome that someone could walk up behind me and snatch my gun from the holster. I know - practice situational awareness at all times. Still, we all have momentary lapses. This is all just for my own enlightenment. There was a recent news story where a man did snatch the gun from an open carrier's holster, is why I ask.

Sounds like someone isn't practicing social distancing...

eta- I often use retention holsters, not to thwart BGs but so they don't bounce out working around the place, like in the brush with a chainsaw, or bouncing across the pasture in a UTV.

Usually open carry...Blackhawk locking holster. Unless the bg is familiar with this holster, he won't get the gun. And even if he is, he would have to be way up in my business to get to it. No way I would not know. I don't do crowds, and don't let anyone that close to me.

"open carry under an untucked shirt". Ummm, would that not be concealed carry since it is UNDER an untucked shirt?
This is ok if you have an LTC. Big NO- NO if you don't. Open carry( constitutional carry) does not mean concealed carry. Be careful.

I can't answer this as I am an LEO but I do prefer the IWB holsters as well as the tactical 511 shirts with hidden compartments.

Ok...my mistake. Law was updated in 2022 to specify state concealed or visible. BUT, must be in a holster. Not a in a pocket or tucked in your pants.
    My apologies.

Permitless carry is permitted both openly or concealed but must be in a holster if carried openly.
