    @Charley
    I don't think there is any back way into that place either.
    So you will probably spend some time on a slow moving service road from 281.
    Floresville is also this weekend, and that is supposed to be a good show, and it's only about a 45 mile drive from N.E. San Antonio.

    @Tnhawk
    I actually sold more there than I did at any show in the past 2 years.
    Missed a really nice Springfield Armory for cheap, the guy right in front of me grabbed it up.
    If it wasn't for the damn chairs, I would have went back Sunday.

    Probably faster to go to the Floresville show. Unfortunately, I'm so behind on making holsters and speed loader blocks, I will be very tied up this weekend.

    It ain't the I10/1604 closure, it's the north central part of 1604 that would be the problem. TexDot did cancel that closure as well, though

    Gunz are icky.
    You guys go to gun shows expecting to find deals? Seriously?
    The shows in my AO are stupid.
    Methuselah behind the table wants a kings ransom for everything. If it says Colt or Winchester on the side just forget it.
    Of course my trade gun is radioactive junk.
    Ammo is worse. Holy cow, I could've stopped at Wal-Mart and done better. Wouldn't have cost me money to go in either.
    I go strictly for the entertainment of it.
    Seems like a common refrain I hear from behind the table is "I cain't sell nuthin." Gee I wonder why.
    I do go looking for small stuff. Holsters, parts, etc. Mostly that means I leave empty handed.
    Can't remember that last time I purchased a firearm at a show.

    They start charging $20 to get in then I'm gone.

    I haven't been to a show in 5+ years for the same reasons.

    I know this has been commented on before, but...
    $20 Frigging Bucks?

    Is it a really GOOD show, or a bunch of sellers that buy crap out of china/eBay, and try to get Daniel Defense or V-Seven prices for it?

    Any small independent sellers, or all big sellers, with many tables, and the same shit that you can buy from Midway USA, or Primary Arms for less?

    Just hype because of no shows in Austin, or a really good show?

    As good as the Tulsa show?
    bigCrowd.jpg

    Only costs $15 on Saturday, $10 on Sunday to get in there.
    Tulsa has 4200 tables...

    It's not Tulsa big, but it is a higher quality gun show than other San Antonio area shows. If you include travel costs, it is cheaper than Tulsa.

    I've heard that the San Marcos show was around 500 tables, and San Antonio is 300?
    (correct me if I'm wrong}
    So, if the Tulsa show has 8 times the tables, the travel would almost be worth it.
    It doesn't take much to be a higher quality show than the San Antonio one.
    How the mighty has fallen.
    Guess I was spoiled by the SA shows of the '80s, and the shows in the Twin Cities in the '70s.

    Why the angst? If you can't afford it, don't go. In case you haven't noticed, there's a LOT of inflation, especially for those that travel - fuel, meals, lodging, labor.

    Compared to other shows in the area that charge $10 to $15 to get in the San Marcos show is not a bad deal for $20 .it's a lot easier to get to than the Alzafar SA show, parking isn't terrible and there is a pretty wide variety of items on the tavbles. I always enjoy it and I will be there on Sunday.

    For one, any purchase at the Tulsa show would require a 4473 and a FFL to complete.

    Two, it's a 8 hr 35 min / 530.7 mi trip each way from SA to Tulsa. I don't see how you can think that would "almost be worth it!"

    Yes, with the demise of the Premier and SAXET shows, San Antonio doesn't really have much to offer anymore. The TGS show at the Alzafar Shrine is OK, but not great. San Marcos is not quite as big as SAXET used to be, but it has more firearm-related items.

    Lastly, in Biden's economy, $20 is the new $5. Given it's an hour or two (or more) of gun porn, and even more fun when you bring a few friends along, it's well worth the money!

    Tell me what else you can get for $20 that gives that much of a return on your investment!

    Gonzales gunshow is a rip off. $10 for 20 minutes it takes to see everything for sale.
    Sounds like the one I went to last week in Seguin. It was pretty bad, as far as amount of tables, attendees and of course prices. And I STILL go every year! Lol, it's addicting - always think I'll find a deal, kinda like buying a lottery ticket. I will check out the San Marcos show also, haven't been before.
