It makes sense. Most folks rent cars when traveling. And since most folks don’t own EVs, they don’t have accounts setup on the various charging networks.

I like EVs but I don’t want to dick around looking for charging stations, setting up accounts, etc while I’m traveling.

This is definitely the reason. Add to the fact that there 5+ EV connections for car chargers, Time to charge a vehicle is also the biggest downfall, 10min-20min for a good charge vs 2min max fueling your vehicle. Also outside larger cities the infrastructure can be hit or miss.

Many people don't want to be the test dummies for the EVs and their changes to the automotive world.

Everyone in North America was supposed to be standardizing on the Tesla connector, but now everyone is mad at Elon because he fired the entire team that was handling the licensing to other auto manufacturers

I'm sure it'll sort itself out, but the histrionics of the EV people are amusing.

My vehicles never fill up in 2 minutes, lol. And god forbid I get the “slow pump”. While filling up is usually faster, I don’t have a Prius with a 2 gallon tank.

I don’t think the plug connections are much of a problem any more unless you get something odd.

Still, an EV doesn’t fit my driving habits. I don’t car what anyone else drives aside from an easy opportunity to make fun of them. I just don’t want it forced on people.
